I'm going all "mother-nature" on you.

I’m stumped as to why trees have been so red-light on my radar these days. I’m thinking there’s a strong, maternal presence about them and my new, maternal nose is catching wind of their scent.

On one of my daily walks I stopped underneath one at the edge of the sidewalk. I looked straight up, neck tilted 180 degrees, and listened to the music the wind made with the bronze and gold leaves. I know, it’s heavily cheese-ball, but have you ever felt like you were falling up? It’s an entirely different perspective and, these days, that is very much welcomed! So, if you can swallow the coolness you think radiates from you (like it does me, of course, and my big brother 24 hrs a day) I very much suggest trying. Step outside and fall up. But the tree has to be big, the trunk strong, and the arms many. And another thing, it won’t work without wind.

You want to know what else? I just turned 27 and the very best part of the celebration, aside from the family dinner that always makes me and my toes happy, was a ding-dong with a single white candle in it. There really is something to the small stuff, the simplicity, the unexpected sweetness…

I hope this week knocks you upside down and shows you something marvelously new…

..and something deliciously chocolate…
